Dr Farmer, the senior partner, has been at Charnwood since 1988.  He is married with two daughters.  He is the Deputy Medical Officer at the local crematorium and is a trained acupuncturist.

Dr Lacey has been at Charnwood since 1988.  He is the local Treasury Medical Officer, an endoscopist at the local hospital and a board member, Prescribing Lead and Clinical Governance Lead for NHS Derby City PCT. His hobbies include skiiing and the Derby Rams - this passion for football being shared with his son.

Dr Healey has been at Charnwood since 1994.

His hobbies include DIY, out of necessity!

Dr Joshi has been at Charnwood since 1995.  He regularly performs DVLA medicals and is the practice lead GP for the care of patients with drug misuse issues. He is also a football fan, but his loyalties lie with a different team to the local one.

Dr Khosla has been at Charnwood since 1998.  He is a GP trainer and is a trained acupuncturist and holds the Certificate in Primary Care Diabetes. His hobbies include football.

Dr Parsons is the Cancer Lead for the PCT and is the Macmillan GP Advisor for the East Midlands.  She is a GP Trainer and is Lead GP for any medical students within the surgery. Dr Parsons enjoys doing expedition medicine and this has included being the race doctor for the Everest marathon and working for Raleigh International in Borneo. Her hobbies include skiing, tennis, running, trekking and travel abroad .

Dr Notley is our part-time partner and has been at Charnwood since 2001.  Some of her hobbies include dance, fitness and walking. She is married with 2 children, who keep her very busy outside of work-time.

Carmel is an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner and the Nurse Manager at Charnwood.  She was a Practice Nurse for 8 years prior to working as a Nurse Practitioner. Carmel sees patients with acute conditions and those with chronic conditions such as diabetes and asthma. 

Charnwood has a team of 8 encompassing a variety of roles and responsibilities to ensure the smooth running of the practice.

These roles include a finance officer, IT officer, admin and secretarial team to deal with mail, results, referrals, patients records etc etc.

Charnwood has a reception team of 13 who cover both the main and the branch surgery in Mackworth.

Each receptionist has general reception duties such as answering the telephones, making appointments and dealing with patients and visitors at the reception desk.

In addition to this manyof them are personal assistants to a GP, and help with informing patients of test results.  Receptionists also coordinate some clinics and registers of patients with certain problems who require regular review in the surgery.

Another big job for the team in the preparation and printing of repeat prescriptions which are then checked and signed by the GPs.
