Charnwood Surgery

Surgery picturesCharnwood Surgery is on Burton Road, near to the centre of town. We also have a branch surgery at Tufnell Gardens, Mackworth. Both sites have easy access for disabled and wheelchair users.

Charnwood Surgery has 7 GP partners. Since 2004 we have been a training practice which enables qualified doctors to undertake extra training to become a GP.    We also provide placements for medical students from Derby Medical School. For more information about Charnwood being a training practice please see the link on the right of the page.

History of the Practice

We were originally based on Charnwood Street, Derby and moved to a new purpose built building on Burton Road which was opened on the 15th January 1996. The surgery underwent extension and refurbishment in the winter of 2009.  The branch surgery at Mackworth is situated on a housing estate and underwent major extension and improvements and was opened on 11th April 2001.
